Most bamboo baby pajamas on the market are bamboo in name only. Bam & Stitch uses NextHug bamboo viscose, a proprietary fabric developed specifically for baby skin: naturally soft, breathable, and hypoallergenic without any chemical treatment. Better than organic, we are Oeko-Tek certified - the gold standard for safety for your baby’s skin.
No flame retardants.
Cotton sleepwear requires flame-retardant treatment by law unless it's snug-fitting. Our bamboo pajamas are designed to fit close to the body, which means they meet CPSC safety standards without the chemicals. What touches your baby's skin is exactly what it looks like: bamboo.
Built for the middle of the night.
Two-way zipper on every convertible style — open from the bottom for diaper changes without fully undressing your baby. Foldover foot grippers on convertible styles. Foldover mittens on newborn sizes to prevent scratching. Scratch-free internal tags throughout.
Bamboo Baby Swaddles
Even better than organic.
A lot of parents search for "organic baby clothes" because they want to know what's touching their baby's skin is safe. That instinct is right. But the certification they should actually be looking for isn't organic — it's Oeko-Tex.
Here's the difference:
Organic (GOTS certified cotton):
Certifies how the plant was grown — no synthetic pesticides or fertilizers in the field. It says very little about what happens to the fabric during manufacturing, dyeing, and finishing.
Oeko-Tex Standard 100 (our certification)
Certifies the finished garment. Every fabric in every Bam & Stitch product has been independently tested against a list of over 100 harmful chemicals, heavy metals, toxic dyes, and irritants — and passed.

For parents of babies with sensitive skin, the Oeko-Tex certification is the one that actually matters. You're not putting a cotton field against your baby's skin. You're putting a finished, dyed, processed garment there. Oeko-Tex tells you what's in it. Organic doesn't.
Our bamboo pajamas are Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified and CPSIA tested. Not self-certified. Not "made with organic materials." Third-party audited.
Oeko-Tex certified. CPSIA tested. Mom-founded.
Every garment is manufactured in an Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified factory. Bam & Stitch was started by two moms who wanted something better for their own kids — the certifications exist because they went looking for them, not because marketing asked for them.
Limited edition prints. Original designs, produced in limited runs. When a print sells out, it doesn't always come back. If you see something you love, grab it.
FAQs
Are these safe for babies with sensitive skin or eczema?
Yes. NextHug bamboo viscose is naturally hypoallergenic and free of flame-retardant chemicals, synthetic dyes, and harsh finishes. All fabrics are Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified and CPSIA tested. If eczema or skin sensitivity is your primary concern, see our dedicated sensitive skin page — the copy there goes deeper on what we've eliminated and why.
Is bamboo the same as organic cotton?
No — and for most parents' actual concern (what's in the fabric touching their baby's skin), Oeko-Tex certified bamboo is the stronger standard. See the "Even better than organic" section above for the full breakdown.
What sizes are available?
Newborn through 2T in baby and toddler styles. Kids sizing extends to 16. Size filters are live above the product grid.
How do I wash them?
Machine wash cold, tumble dry low. Avoid high heat — it degrades bamboo fibers faster than it would cotton. No fabric softener needed; the bamboo stays soft on its own.
Do they run true to size?
Yes, with natural stretch. If your baby is between sizes, go up.
What's the difference between convertible rompers and regular pajamas?
Convertible rompers have foldover foot grippers that transition from footie to footless as your baby grows, plus foldover mittens on newborn sizes. Regular long-sleeve pajamas are footless from the start. Both have the two-way zipper.
