March: Honoring Women's History Month with the Mona Foundation

March is Women's History Month, a time to celebrate the women who shape our families, lead with heart, and keep the world moving even when no one is watching. At Bam & Stitch, caring for families is what we do every day. It shows up in the pieces we create for your little ones, and it also shows up in how we choose to give back.

This month, we are honored to spotlight and support the Mona Foundation, a global nonprofit rooted in one powerful idea: when you invest in education, especially for girls and women, you change lives for generations.

The Mona Foundation is an international nonprofit that supports grassroots educational initiatives in underserved communities around the world. Instead of building and operating its own schools, Mona partners with trusted local organizations that already understand their community's needs, culture, and challenges.

These partners run programs like primary and secondary schools, vocational training, literacy projects, and leadership development. The common thread is simple: education is the tool that helps break cycles of poverty and builds stronger communities within.

Across the regions Mona supports, education is often paired with wraparound resources that make learning more accessible and sustainable, including health and hygiene education, nutrition support, and character or leadership development. The goal is not only to teach children to read and write, it's to help them develop the confidence and skills to shape their own futures.

Women's History Month is about honoring what women have done and what women can do when they have access to opportunity. Education is one of the clearest pathways to that opportunity.

In many communities, girls are still more likely to be pulled out of school due to finances, household responsibilities, or cultural expectations. When that happens, it does not just change one child's future. It affects families, generations, and the overall strength of a community.
